Eek! October Already! Time is Flying Away With Your Life: Now is The Time To Take Action: by Sue Lester.

Back in January where had you expected to be in your life, in your business, by October? If you're not where you wanted to be, now is the time to take action so 2012 can be your best year yet. This action involves planning, and probably letting go of some old habits, systems or beliefs, so you can continue to grow.

There are 3 stages to follow to make this easier: Clarity, Confidence and Motivation. Choose just one area of your life to start with e.g. career, finances, relationship, health.

Clarity
If you don't know where you are and where you are going, how can you expect to find your way?

1. Where are you now? Measure and write down, whether in dollar figures, profit or loss, kilograms, satisfaction level out of 10, as applicable.
2. Where do you want to be? Once again, write down specific, measurable amounts or tasks achieved. E.g. book published, 30% nett growth, maintenance weight 73kg.
3. Why haven't you already achieved this? An Ouch question, but be honest with yourself. 'Not enough time' is very likely really 'other higher priorities' or 'poor boundary setting' or 'fear of success or failure' or 'not good enough'.

Confidence
After knowing where you are and where you want to be, you need the confidence to take consistent action.

1. List your strengths. Email 10 contacts from across your life that you respect, and ask them to write a few lines to describe you. If you feel more comfortable doing so, tell them your coach set you the task. Add their comments to your list.

2. List your weaknesses, designating them into either the Delegation or Education list. In other words, either delegate that task or learn how to do it well so it is no longer a weakness.

3. Get rid of your limiting self beliefs and habits from Clarity 3. Use positive affirmations, persistence and brute will power, or hire an NLP trained coach or practitioner to help you make fast, lasting changes easily. (NLP = Neuro Linguistic Programming)

Motivation
You are now confidently clutching your map to success, so all you need is the inspired motivation to keep going when the weather clouds in or you trip.

1. Focus on and write your goals in terms of what you do want, rather than what you don't. E.g. 'healthy body weighing 67kg', rather than 'not fat'.

2. Work out why you really want your goals e.g. for greater freedom, for better sex, to feel secure, and spend 15 minutes twice each day visualising on having that. Use all of your senses - how will it look, sound, feel, taste, smell, and soak up the feeling of having achieved it.

3. Now a Time Line of Action Steps. You have your big goal, reverse engineer it, to work out your time line of small and medium actions to get you there. What is the first thing you can do right now to step towards your vision? A phone call or email perhaps? Every small step/action counts!

Remember, you don't have to do this alone. Get your team helping you, and absolutely a coach should be part of that team for ongoing accountability, support and trouble-shooting.

Get yourself off to a flying start and spend a day developing YOUR absolute clarity, authentic confidence and inspired motivation. Let Go And Grow Workshop 13 November 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Allen Carrs Easyway: 7 Top Tips to Be Smoke Free!

1. Set your date and time to stop and carry on smoking as usual right up to that time - don't try to cut down beforehand, that just makes cigarettes seem more precious.

2. Look forward to stopping. Rather than assume you are going to feel deprived and miserable - just look forward to finally being free. Remember - you are not "giving up" or "quitting" - these terms are so negative - who wants to be labeled a quitter? You are going to be a non smoker, not an ex-smoker!

3. If a stranger offers you a cigarette at a party just say "no thanks - I don't smoke" - this takes the focus off of you and probably lead them to wax lyrical about how lucky you are and how they wish they could stop. This will feel confirm that you have made the right decision in stopping.

4. Never be fooled into thinking you could have the odd cigarette just to be social, you will either return to smoking at your old level immediately or gradually build up to it over a period of time. Always think of 100,000 cigarettes, not one.

5. Avoid turning into a "reformed smoker", someone who moans and nags other smokers - you will make smokers feel miserable or annoyed with you and become incredibly unpopular! Live and let live - don't be a whinging stopper!

6. Be happy you no longer smoke, you are likely to inspire smokers around you. They will see how relaxed and laid back you are and see you as a shining example - it will give them hope that they too can quit.

7. Avoid any form of substitution, if you replace cigarettes with chocolate - you'll gain weight and be miserable. Remember you are not giving up anything - you are getting rid of smoking. Looking for a replacement would be like getting rid of a terrible cold and wanting to replace it with the flu!

If you have any difficulties at all please feel free to contact Allen Carr's Easyway Clinics for a free information pack. Obtain a $50 discount when you mention "My Health Specials" website when booking a session. Are You Struggling To Lose Weight: By detox4Life.com.au

If you want to lose weight presently and have been suffering through the fad of 'quick fix' diets and pills, and exercising with no results, then you will be very interested to learn the relationship between Fat, Fluid & Toxins…..

Did you know that;

Some of your excess weight may be fluid not fat

Your bowel patterns affect your weight; do you suffer from constipation regularly?

Whether or not your liver is functioning effectively makes a big difference to you losing fat or holding on to it.

Hormonal imbalances in women play a large part in fat storage, especially around the stomach and upper thighs

If your immune system isn't working well it will be harder for you to lose weight

What you may need to lose weight is not to diet but to detoxify….

Why You Should Care About Your Lymphatic Health-

Your lymphatic system is the home of your immune defence. If you have a healthy free-flowing lymphatic circulation it is highly possible that you will avoid all those colds and viral infections circulating at the office or within your child's school. Or if you do become ill, your recovery rate will be quick and efficient.

Having a healthy lymphatic system will also mean that you will be eliminating toxins at a faster rate and you will find it easier to stay at your ideal weight (so long as your bowel and liver is also functioning effectively). You may also have an increased chance of avoiding more serious diseases, such as glandular fever and cancer of the lymph glands, particularly if there is a history of this type of cancer in your family.

Lymph is constantly moving around the body. Unlike the heart-driven circulatory system, the lymphatic system has no central pump. Lymphatic circulation relies primarily on movement of the body's muscles as well as on respiratory movement.

A number of disorders or imbalances occur when this fluid becomes over-burdened with toxins. Such un-eliminated waste can cause unwanted tissue formation and swelling, otherwise known as cellulite. Cellulite is a structural disturbance of fat tissue, related, in part, to local vein and lymph congestion. Our Colon Cleanse can be help to reduce cellulite as well as lose weight.

Fluid Retention-

Overweight does not necessarily mean excess body fat. An over-weight woman can hold up to 10 kilos of excess weight in fluid retention within her lymphatic circulation! The first questions I will ask such a client is are they drinking purified water and how are they drinking their water? Are they taking small sips throughout the day? Usually not. Mostly women with fluid retention are not drinking enough water or drink no water first thing in the morning, gulp down several glasses of water at lunchtime and then don't remember to drink again until they get home late in the afternoon. Consequently their bodies are holding onto fluid in reserve.

Tea, coffee, salt and alcohol are the worst drinks for fluid retention sufferers.

Even if you do drink purified water regularly you may find that you suffer from hormonal fluid retention in the week before your period, and if this is the case correcting the underlying hormonal imbalance will probably help you to shed a kilo or 2 quickly without doing anything else differently!

The Ayurvedic Water Technique " Simmer 1-½ litres of purified water for 15 minutes in a large stainless steel saucepan.

Pour into a thermos flask
Drink ½ cup of warm water every ½ hour throughout the day

This technique does two things. Firstly because the body is getting a small but constant supply of water throughout the day, it will naturally let go of any excess fluid reserve that it is holding - a fantastic way to lose weight. And secondly because the water is simmered, the ions within the water become negatively charged, which when taken internally will pull positive ions towards it, thus aiding detoxification. The positive ions or free radicals are passed out of the body during urination.

Cold Showers

Regular cold showers (the colder the better) improve blood and lymph circulation, aid detoxification and weight loss. Cold showers extract toxins from the body, they improve circulation and help prevent cellulite, as well as slowing down spider and varicose veins formation. Improved circulation helps to eliminate toxins that are accumulated in layers of fatty deposits, which not only makes you feel better as the poisons are no longer affecting you, but also helps you to lose weight. Improved circulation and the production of the body's natural blood thinning enzyme are greatly improved. This makes cold showers particularly effective in the prevention of heart attacks.

Our body's immune system also benefits from cold showers and this has been proven by medical research. The number of white blood cells produced increases with regular cold showers, significantly decreasing the likelihood of catching a cold or viral infection.

Dry Skin Brushing-

Dry skin brushing promotes both circulation and lymphatic drainage, with a variety of benefits. These include stimulating the exchange of nutrients and wastes, improving immune function and promoting the flow of vital energy, or Chi.

The best time to use your skin brush is first thing in the morning, before a cold shower. (Have a 10 second cold shower followed by warm and ending with another quick cold shower). Always brush gently to start with and always brush towards the heart (up the arms and up the legs). Any blockage at the superficial lymphatic level will result in congestion throughout the whole lymphatic system. Skin brushing is an excellent way to stimulate the activity of the entire lymphatic system. Much ill-health can be avoided or improved upon when the lymphatic system is circulating freely and regular skin brushing can be a valuable support in order to achieve this.

Toxins could be making you look fat-

Considering 70% of lymphatic tissue lies within the intestines, it is worth thinking about the effect not regularly (2-3 times per day) having a bowel motion may have upon the functioning of the lymphatic system. Big tummies don't necessarily mean fat tummies! It would amaze you to know just how much toxic sludge we hold onto in the small and large intestines by being constipated. In many cases what we presume to be 'fat' is in actuality layers of mucoid plaque or stuck faecal matter sitting in the walls of the intestines, yuck!

Love your liver to be slimmer!-

Other than a sluggish bowel, most people in the Western World also have poor liver function. And it is often lack of bile secretion from the liver that causes a sluggish bowel. It is worth thinking about the fact that preservatives in food are there to slow down the activity of bacteria. However in the gut it is the bacteria that break down the food. Too many additives and processed foods take longer to digest. As the gut becomes more blocked with toxic sludge, burdening the lymphatic system, we absorb less and less nutrients from our food. This may cause us to eat more to gain what we need, but if it is more of the wrong kind of food then we are further adding to toxicity levels, which in turn means excess weight and also depletes us of essential nutrients.

By cleansing the bowel, the lymphatic tissue is able to sigh with relief as excess toxic baggage is towed away. By ridding the body of this toxic sludge many people not only experience better health and more energy, but also discover a sustainable method of losing weight and most importantly being able to manage to remain at a healthy weight long term!

A cleansing diet may be adhered to when there is suspicion that the lymphatic system is congested or sluggish:

Foods to Avoid

Red meats and non organic chicken, greasy, fatty and fried foods, dairy products, vinegar and pickles, alcohol, sugar, salt, tea, coffee and junk food, artificial additives, preservatives etc.

Foods That Promote Lymphatic Circulation and Detoxification

Seaweed, particularly kombu and kelp
Fresh fruits, especially oranges, grapes and apples
Fresh vegetables, especially green vegetables
Garlic and onion

Sugar is more Addictive than Cocaine and Just As Deadly by Perpetual Well-being.

A research paper1 published in 2007 confirmed what we all know - sugar is incredibly addictive and actually more addictive than cocaine.

Refined sugars such as sucrose and fructose were absent in the diet of most people until recently in human history (beginning with the post WW2 food processing revolution). Today overconsumption of diets rich in sugars contributes together with other factors to drive the current obesity epidemic. Overconsumption of sugar-dense foods or beverages is initially motivated by the pleasure of sweet taste, and can be directly compared with drug addiction. The research was carried out on rats but can be related to humans and showed that 94% of animals including even cocaine addicted animals preferred the sweet taste to a dose of cocaine. The research showed that a dependence-like state appeared to be induced by the sugar-dense foods and beverages.

Various studies2 have confirmed that hyperglycemia (high blood sugar levels) is associated with increased mortality in critically ill patients. We know from our work with the chronically ill that overconsumption of sugar is a key factor in the development of cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, arthritis and dementia.

As long ago as the 1970's scientists were gathering evidence showing that over consumption of sugar was interfering with our normal processes of preventing illness3 and was creating losses of magnesium and calcium by affecting the way renal reabsorption works. By 1986 a link was established between diets high in sugar and chromium loss4, and the association with diabetes. By the early 1990's high-fructose corn syrup was replacing sucrose in many processed foods especially soft drinks. The claims that high-fructose corn syrup was more healthier than sucrose clouded the issue and delayed the production of conclusive scientific evidence for many years. However, research has been showing that artificially introduced fructose is not necessarily any better for you than sugar - a recent study published in April 2010 showed that consuming drinks sweetened with high-fructose corn syrup was associated with the prevalence of chronic kidney disease.

The United States has experienced dramatic increases in soft drink consumption over the past few decades, largely due to economic and societal forces encouraging this behaviour. In 2004, Americans spent $66 billion on carbonated drinks, and the soft drink industry produced approximately 52 gallons per year of sugar-sweetened and "diet" soda - or 18 oz per day - for every man, woman, and child in the United States. In 1942, the US annual production of carbonated drinks was approximately 2 oz per person per day, such that in the last 6 decades, per capita soda production has increased nearly 10-fold.

However, research has been showing that artificially introduced fructose is not necessarily any better for you than sugar - a recent study published in April 2010 showed that consuming drinks sweetened with high-fructose corn syrup was associated with the prevalence of chronic kidney disease.

Our experience shows that all high sugar foods including fruit can be taken out of the diet without risk to health (leaving vegetables as the main source of carbohydrates). Please note that for most people the most important things to remove from your diet are the foods with artificially added sugars including those added in the forms of sucrose and fructose including high-fructose corn syrup.

A frequently cited concern is that a low carbohydrate diet has the potential for increased renal disease because of the resulting high protein content of the diet. If the diet is balanced properly with vegetables this is never an issue. A study published in April 20105 shows that a very low carbohydrate diet (much lower than the ones we use) does not adversely affect renal function.

Laughter is the best medicine!

A Minneapolis couple decided to go to Florida to thaw out during particularly icy winter. They planned to stay at the same hotel where they spent their honeymoon 20 years earlier.Because of hectic schedules, it was difficult to coordinate their travel schedules, so the husband left Minnesota and flew to Florida on Thursday, with his wife flying down the following day.The husband checked into the hotel. There was a computer in his room, so he decided to send an email to his wife. However, he accidentally left out one letter in her email address, and without realizing his error, sent the email. Meanwhile, somewhere in Houston, a widow had just returned home from her husband's funeral. He was a minister who was called home to glory, following a heart attack. The widow decided to check her email expecting messages from relatives and friends. After reading the first message, she screamed and fainted. The widow's son rushed into the room, found his mother on the floor, and saw the computer screen which read:

To: My Loving Wife Subject: I've Arrived Date: October 16, 2004 I know you're surprised to hear from me. They have computers here now and you are allowed 2 send emails to your loved ones. I've just arrived and have been checked in. I see that everything has been prepared 4 your arrival tomorrow. Looking forward 2 seeing u then! Hope your journey is as uneventful as mine was. P.S. Sure is freaking hot down here!!! :O)
