Kickbike : Serious Training,Serious Fun!

Developed as a cross-training device for elite Nordic athletes 9 years ago, the KICKBIKE is arguably the best aerobic workout available. An adult version of the Scooter, that is safe to use, manoeuvrable and a brilliant way to tone all the right muscles, and target core strength.

Even if your workout is the gentle broad-walk stroll, you can still expect to stretch the Hamstring, strengthen and tone your abdominals, lower back, quadriceps and calf muscles, as well as trim down and firm up your legs and buttocks! Not bad results from just having a bit of fun.

KICKBIKING, generates a low impact foot strike, as your body weight is principally supported by the stationary leg. This significantly reduces shock to the knees and lower extremities. Injury prevention is further enhanced by not fixing you to a specific position, which reduces muscle stiffness, strain and the chance of injury. All you need to do is remember to change legs regularly. Kickbike is easy to ride and has good control.

The Brisbane AFL Lions, a Queensland Surf Ironman and some of Queenslands Athletic coaches have recently purchased Kickbikes for specific targeting of the glute, hip flex, and core stability strength.

So forgo the nip and tuck, and kick your butt into shape on a KICKBIKE. It's the simplest, safest and most enjoyable way to reduce fat and improve your fitness!

Saltcrystal Lamps:Natures Own air Ionisers and Purifiers!

saltcrystal lamp [soltkrist'l lamp] noun also known as salt lamp or saltlamp. Beautiful, millions of years old, salt rock crystal, known for its ability to ionise the air, thus enhancing your well being and improving your health. Nature's own air ionisers and purifiers. A special type of rock crystal and an ideal and unique gift!

Our well being and our efficiency are considerably dependent on the quality of the air we breath. Air consists of many electrically charged particles -- positively, negatively charged or neutral particles.

Many people are aware of the benefits of negative ions on our health. Negative ions are essential for our health and well being. The freshness of the air after a thunderstorm, on a mountain top, or by the seaside, are due to the high concentration of negative ions in the air. On the other hand, the reduced well being one feels in highly polluted areas, artificially air conditioned offices, or when certain hot dry wind conditions exist, are usually due to an unduly low negative ion balance (and therefore high proportion of positive ions).

Salt crystal lamps are known to improve the quality of the air by producing negative ions which are good for our health.

Use the lamps in your office, by your bedside, in your meditation room, in the baby's room, as a night light in the hallway and just anywhere you want to create a clean serene environment.

LeaderFocus Key 3: The Capacity of Building Relationships!

Lee Stemm- Leadership + Performance Coach

The capacity to develop close and enduring relationships is one mark of a leader. Unfortunately, many leaders of major companies believe their job is to create the strategy, organisation structure, and organizational processes. Then they just delegate the work to be done, remaining aloof from the people doing the work.

The detached style of leadership will not be successful in the twenty-first centaury. Today's employees demand more personal relationships with their leaders before they will give themselves fully to their jobs. They insist on having access to their leaders, knowing that it is in the openness and the depth of the relationship with the leader that trust and commitment are built. Bill Gates, Michael Dell, and Jack Welch are so successful because they connect directly with their employees and realize from them a deeper commitment to their work and greater loyalty to the company. Welch, in particular, is an interesting case because he was so challenging and hard on people. Yet it was those very challenges that let people know that he was interested in their success and concerned about their careers.

At the heart of leadership is the leader's relationship with followers. People will entrust their hopes and dreams to another person only if they think the other is a reliable vessel. Authentic leaders establish trusting relationships with people throughout the organisations as well as in their personal lives. The rewards of these relationships, both tangible and intangible, are long lasting.

Often you will hear from leaders these kinds of comments around this topic of relationships. "I don't want to get too close to my employees because someday I may have to terminate them". Actually, the real reason goes much deeper than that. Many leasers - men in particular - fear having their weaknesses and vulnerabilities exposed. So they create distance from employees and a sense of aloofness. Instead of being authentic, they are creating a persona for themselves.

Enduring relationships are built on connectedness and a shared purpose of working together toward a common goal. Every person has a life story they want to share with you, if you are open to hearing their story and sharing with them. It is in sharing our life stories that we develop trust and intimacy with our colleagues.

Leaders who are open with people, even when sharing bad news or offering critical feedback, establish that sense of connection that builds commitment. Trust is build and sustained in the depths of these relationships, and commitment is strengthened so that any obstacle can be overcome. When pressures mount, relationships build on connectedness actually grow.

Tips to Build Relationships
1. Value your people - This is your attitude towards them
2. commit to your people - This is putting aside some of your time
3. Integrity with your people - This is your character and consistency
4. Standard for people - this is your role modelling and vision
5. influence over people - this is your leadership

The Triangle Pose(sanskrit -Ttrikonasana): with Sunshine Yoga & Health!

BENEFITS: " Your side muscles are exercised (ie. hips, abdomen, ribs, shoulders, neck). Your abdominal muscles and intercostal muscles (between the ribs) are stretched and alternately contracted, with relaxation between. The result is increased circulation of blood and nervous energy in this area and thereby, strength and tone of the abdominal wall and thoracic cage occurs.

>The waist is exercised which assists with slimming this area if there is sag or fat.

>The organs lateral to the spine (liver, kidneys, colon and spleen) are vitalised due to the alternate compression, extension and relaxation of the trunk. This can improve digestion and appetite.

> The intervertebral discs become more elastic. Most of the discs, especially those in the lower spine, are exercised. This posture creates a more elastic spine.

>Blood vessels serving the kidneys are massaged. The kidneys are better able to perform their function of keeping the blood clear of toxins.

>Adrenal glands are stimulated. By promoting the adrenal glands your coping mechanism with acute stress will be improved.

>Your nervous system has increased tone with this pose as your spine is lengthened and stretched. There is an increase in life force energy to the abdominal organs. The result is a general increase in vitality and well-being.

MENTAL/PSYCHOLOGICAL BENEFITS:
>Practice this pose with an awareness of consciously drawing energy and joy into your spine. Draw volumes of energy down from the heavens through up fingers that are reaching to the stars, and draw energy in volumes up from Mother Earth through your fingers that are pointing downward. You then become a receiving station for energy of the Universe - a feeling of being poised midway between Heaven and Earth - and resting this Universal energy in your heart centre (midway).

ASSUMING THE POSITION:

>Your legs are wider than hip width apart - your right foot turns out to the right.
Your right heel aligns with the centre of your left foot.
>Your hips are aligned.
>Inhale and raise your arms to shoulder level, palms facing down.
>Exhale and move your trunk directly to the right, with your right arm moving down toward your leg then rest your hand on your knee, your calf or your foot.
>Do not compromise the stretch by twisting your hips - in other words, keep your hips aligned and move directly to the right. It does not matter how far your hand goes down your leg. It is a side bend, not a forward bend.
>Your left arm extends up, directly toward the heavens.
>If your neck is not tight, you can turn your head upward to your hand, looking to the heavens. If you neck is tight, look straight ahead or look down.
>Whilst holding this posture, continue to breathe freely. If you hold your breath your muscles will tighten - you are looking for softness in the stretch and your breath will assist you to maintain ease of this pose.
>Hold only for as long as you feel comfortable without strain. If there is strain or pain, come out of the pose immediately and rest.
>Perform this pose to the other side.

Lotus Birth - a ritual for our times

Lotus birth is the practice of leaving the umbilical cord uncut, so that the baby remains attached to his/her placenta until the cord naturally separates at the umbilicus - exactly as a cut cord does - at 3 to 10 days after birth. This prolonged contact can be seen as a time of transition, allowing the baby to slowly and gently let go of his/her attachment to the mother’s body. . (more…)
