Life Coaching : Do you need one?

The difference between people who achieve success and those who don't often boils down to how they spend their time. Getting organised is one of the keys to high achievement. It's identifying the things that need to be done and working out ways to fit them easily into your schedule.

Many of us make excuses. Excuses are a justification for not achieving a desired outcome, an opportunity to lay blame elsewhere, away from you. I teach my coaching clients that excuses don't serve any purpose whatsoever. Often I ask my clients "How important is this goal, and when are you going to accept responsibility for it?" You have a goal, create a plan, take action and make it happen. Accept responsibility for the outcome. Own it! Then move ahead

A Life Coach's role is to help you focus on goals in specific areas of your life, such as relationship, career or creativity, and gain a more comprehensive understanding of the power of your mind and how it affects your beliefs, attitudes, behavior and ultimately your self-esteem, confidence and performance. I will keep your vision alive and support you when times get tough. Combining counseling skills with life coaching I will identify your sabotage and success strategies.

The benefits become truly visible and tangible when clients address their domestic situations, improve personal relationships, uncover hidden skills and talents, kick start their careers, change jobs, rid themselves of the things around them that are holding them back.
There is much power in working with someone who believes you can reach your dreams. Imagine yourself on a journey of self-discovery, seeing all that you are capable of and becoming the person you truly want to be!

Male Waxing: Secret Mens Business!

One of the best kept secrets is waxing. So many men resorted to methods like shaving and depilatory creams only to be disappointed afterwards as the result is often a painful mess of ingrown hairs and rash. After shaving the hair tends to be stronger and often returns within a day so all that effort seems futile. Waxing on the other hand will decrease the thickness of the hair therefore the hair will grow back sparser, the follicle becomes weaker every time so the pain factor is lessened and best of all you don't have to worry about hair growth for 3-6 weeks.

At Sanctuary Earth Day Spa only the highest quality wax is used making it suitable for even the most sensitive of skins. The therapists are experts in hair removal, recognising the qualities of the male hair follicle and therefore the greatest of care is taken. We pride ourselves in the reputation we have earnt, of being the best in the business. Our male clientele is forever growing and the loyalty we have established is strong.

If hair removal is what you need, the search is over. The therapists at Sanctuary Earth Day Spa will make sure that the results you desire are met.

Microdermabrasion: Super Stars Swear by it !

Microdermabrasion is one such treatment. America's fourth most popular cosmetic treatment is now taking Australia by storm; with armies of women and men flocking to their local beauty salons for the ultimate in non-surgical skin resurfacing.

What is Microdermabrasion?

Whether you suffer from pigmentation, acne scarring or you just want that fresh faced look sported by stars such as Jennifer Lopez or Australia's own Kylie Minogue then consider Microdermabrasion.

Using diamond-shaped crystals, the skin is mechanically exfoliated, removing the outer layer of dead skin cells and stiumulating the regeneration of healthy skin cells, which in turn, improves elasticity, texture, colour and the overall feel and appearance of the skin.

The advantages of Microdermabrasion over other types of skin resurfacing treatments such as Laser or Chemical Peels, are it's minimal 'down time' and little trauma to the area being treated. Treatments take only one hour and make-up can be immediately re-applied if desired.

Who is Microdermabrasion for?

Because there is no 'down-time', Microdermabrasion is the ideal treatment for busy professionals who cannot afford time away from work or people with active lifestyles who do not wish to interfere with their day-to-day activities.

Microdermabrasion can also be used on dark skins that have been recommended against treatments such as laser and various types of topical applications and sensitive skins that react to cosmetic creams and make-up.

In all, Microdermabrasion can be used to treat a wide range of skin imperfections including fine lines and wrinkles, open pores and even to alliviate the symptoms of Rosacea.

What clients are saying.

Kim has suffered from pigmentation since the birth of her daughter two years ago:

"Before starting with Microdermabrasion I tried several other ways to get rid of my pigmentation, from fading creams to glycolic peels. Although they made a little difference, the bulk of my pigmentation was still there and because I have an olive skin I couldn't try any stronger applications because I would risk actally making my pigmentation worse.
"After my first Microdermabrasion treatment my skin felt silky smooth and it looked radiant. It was a little red and stingy for a day or so but with make-up no one could tell. I saw the pigmentation start improving after my second treatment. It started to break up. It didn't look like one big patch any more."

Now I've had five treatments and my pigmentation has improved about 80% but my skin texture has improved 100%. I look in the mirror and I'm happy with what I see. I'm finally confident with the way my skin looks and feels."

New plan for period pain
Researchers at Auckland University have found that daily supplements of vitamin B1 and magnesium could provide relief from painful periods for many women. Their analysis, published in the Cochrane Review, revealed that vitamin B1 and the mineral magnesium appeared to ease symptoms of dysmenorrhoea, or painful periods.

Researchers take nutrients to heart
At a time when there are concerns over the safety of some cholesterol lowering drugs, several new studies have emerged confirming the value of certain nutritional supplements in the maintenance of cardiovascular health. The British Journal of Nutrition reported recently that men with low levels of lycopene, a nutrient found in tomatoes and some other fruits, had a three times greater risk of acute coronary events or stroke. Meanwhile, researchers in the U.S. and U.K. have shown that the B vitamin folate can help reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. And the Journal of the Association of Physicians in India trialed antioxidant vitamins A, C and E, concluding that all three nutrients significantly decreased the oxidation of fats in the bloodstream of coronary heart disease patients.

Ageing population increases Alzheimer's incidence
A sobering report the New England Journal of Medicine carries the news that Alzheimer's disease is becoming more prevalent and that the disease kills more quickly than previously thought. With our population ageing, prevalence of Alzheimer's is expected to quadruple in the next 50 years. The study also found that patients 84 years of age or older survive, on average, only three years after first presenting symptoms to their doctor. While the exact cause of Alzheimer's is unknown, some researchers believe maintaining normal, healthy circulation can reduce the risk of developing the disease.

Diabetes risk dwindles with diet and exercise
In the time it takes to watch the news, people at risk of adult-onset diabetes can drastically cut their chance of developing the disease. That's the message out of a report released by the U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary. Combine thirty minutes of exercise (such as walking) daily with a low-fat diet (less than 25 percent of calorific intake) and you can lower the risk of adult-onset, or Type 2 diabetes, by 38 to 70 percent. In a study involving 3,200 volunteers deemed to be at risk of developing Type 2 diabetes, the researchers found that changes in diet and lifestyle were more effective at potentially warding off the disease than an oral diabetes drug.

Clean up Australia: We all benefit!

From the Cocos Islands to Darwin, Launceston to Katoomba, hundreds of thousands of interested and community-minded people collect unsightly and polluting rubbish from our fragile environments.

Today, Clean Up Australia Day (CUADay) is firmly entrenched in the Australian psyche. It is the largest community participation event in the country, attracting more than 600,000 volunteers every year. An apolitical, non-profit community effort, CUADay is an event in which everyone can participate.

In the lead up to CUADay, people are asked to nominate sites they believe need cleaning up. CUADay Committees, comprising citizens concerned about their environment, then help co-ordinate the clean up of the site. Committees are made up of volunteers and can be established by anyone wishing to organise and oversee a clean up in their community.
